This past quarter I took my first two graduate-level graphic design classes, one of which was typography. I love typography -- it's what originally got me interested in graphic design. When I was in middle school I'd copy typefaces from Pinterest just for fun, so this class was both really challenging and felt like a bit of a dream.
Our final project was to create a series of five vinyl songbooks for a music artist of our choice. I chose Jack Johnson, whose music I've loved since I was a kid. We used the lyrics and musician's biography as the typographic information. Below are some excerpts of my designs, as well as photos of the final printed books. This project was a joy and helped me to really start pushing the boundaries of my design style.
