I've been making monthly photo journals since 12th grade, and recently I got to thinking about what exactly I was doing. Compulsively collecting memories? Sharing my camera roll? What is the point of a photograph?
I've been working on this theory (which you can now read on Substack, who's surprised) about how maybe... photos don't exist. Read it and hear me out.
So I printed my memories from July on printer paper and really considered the worth of connection through art and cataloging experiences and the like. Big thoughts!!
Here are a few select moments from July:
1. the playing cards I bring everywhere came in handy at Jack Johnson
2. I've been learning how to braid better and I'm obsessed
3. fruit snack stop
4. cheering on our fav kids at the swim meet
5. handstands at JJ
6. Asheville Art Museum! epic!
7. creek dip post-long run
8. stumbling into a revolutionary war reenactment
9. a memorable facetime call
10. my final project for my summer class which resembled an elementary school art project
11. Battle of Colson's Mill 246th anniversary celebration. duh.
12. early morning hometown runs
13. my first solo roadtrip
14. honorable mentions
