Studio Lighting Final Project: The White Projects

As I've mentioned previously, this past spring quarter I took a studio lighting photography class, and boy, did it rock my world. I learned so much about not only studio lighting, but also the oodles of equipment that can elevate any photo story. I enjoyed the class so much and learned more than almost any other class I've taken so far at SCAD. It's truly the coolest feeling to start diving deeper into what specifically I want to do with my creative work.
Our final project was to create a cohesive photo series, which was very open ended. In the last few weeks of the quarter I had the super cool opportunity to do photoshoots with multiple fashion students, all for their same "white" project. At SCAD, at the end of junior year all of the fashion design students create one garment entirely in white, which are then all put into a fashion showcase together. As a part of their projects, they all have to do a photoshoot with the garment. I got to be a part of four different student's work and I learned so much. It's so fascinating to see how other creatives work, especially in different fields, and then translate that into my own creative process with them. I'm finding that taking other artists's work and capturing it through my photographic eye is one of my favorite parts of the photography world, as it combines my perspective with other's passions.
Below are the final ten images, along with some other favorites that aren't in black and white. Thank you for viewing and enjoy!
