August in one word: adventure. This past month was one I will truly never forget. While leaving home for the third year of college, this time with my younger sibling Abe, was both bittersweet and exciting, the most memorable part was definitely spending a week going on my first international trip with two of my best friends. Berlin, Germany will forever be the first country I traveled to alone, and while I have so much creativity to share from it, I've included some photo highlights below. Having Carlotta as our hometown tour guide and Avery as an amazing American side kick was a blast beyond words.
As I'm now back in Savannah and reflecting on the summer, I'm so thankful for all that it brought me and taught me. I saw one new state, one new country, lots of new faces and a summer chalk full of memories. This summer proved to be a lot busier than I expected and while I never had more than a week or two at home in a row, I truly treasured all of the time I got to spend with my family above all of the adventures. From lots of morning runs to Rhode Island, the Manfred Family had ourselves a good time.
Creatively, this summer taught me to be a lot more present with my artistic creations. Summer camp at Grier especially reminded me of a more simple, childlike way of creating art in which we act on an idea right when we have it and don't question it! I made some bad art and fun art, while gathering inspiration for another year of art school in Savannah.
Enjoy some highlights of August below, it was one for the books!!
