Happy birthday Julia!! Just kidding.
This past spring quarter I took the first studio lighting class and when I tell you I learned a lot... oh my goodness. This class taught me so much about not only all of the professional equipment, but also how to operate as a photographer or art director in a studio setting. I'm so thankful that I'm getting to learn skills that will hopefully take me where I want to go in the professional photography world.
This project was our first portrait lighting assignment, and it was to create a series with all five of the main one-light portrait set ups. I decided to take my sweet friend Julia into the studio and experiment with a fun premise of her birthday. I've learned so much more since taking these photos, but I still think they're a ton of fun. Enjoy the series below!!
