It's official! It's Cycling Summer. This summer I've started joining my younger brother Reu on his bike rides around our local rural towns and while it's a good workout, it's also a lot of fun. This year I've loved taking up new physical adventures like cycling and rock climbing. It's a lot of fun to learn a new skill, plus I've found it's also empowering to use my body in more ways than my usual running grind.
While initially a little terrifying, legitimate bike riding has taught me a lot about how fun it can be to try a new challenge. I went from never having ridden further than my commute to class, to doing a 20 mile ride with Reu one afternoon in June. I've also found that cycling has a beautiful aesthetic to the sport of speed and grace. This inspired me to try my hand at some bike photography before one of my rides with Reu.
We're huge Tour de France fans so seeing all of the creativity and fun content coming out of this year's Tour likewise inspired this set of photos. Enjoy some sick cycling photos below!!
